Its a fair article, however it's ok saying we can follow the Warrington model, but I don't think we can, it isn't the money but the players that Warrington had in place, I quite like Hoy and Clifford and think they would do well behind a pack like Warrington's, but they aren't in the Duffy, Williams league, same at hooker, Clarke and Walker are both excellent hookers, we have nothing like that right now.
Saying that, they have shown what can be done with smart recruitment, they brought in 5 new forwards, none of which will be marquee type players to improve their pack. Their backs on paper aren't world beaters, two young quick wingers and two experienced centres. Which is certainly a way we could go down if with our current squad and spend money on the pack.
Like Warrington, we need to give Smith a chance to recruit and bring in the type of players he wants, before that we need to start picking up some points though, Wakey could easily win this week, putting a lot of pressure on us, think we need another win before we play them.
I think if finances are tight, we need to follow the Salford model, look at players that have a point to prove / didn't fit in at their current clubs, but won't break the bank to sign....players in the mould of Dupree, Lafai, Ackers, Croft (before his huge new deal), Cross, Partington....Sneyd...etc

Thats a good point, Steve, Salford have proved that you can bring in the right type of players despite a lower budget.
You could add on a few other players like Burgess, Cross and Watkins to that list.

Very smart with recruitment.
Could have done their whole squad to be honest! I think their recruit has been brilliant the past few years, then if a bigger club does poach a player..e.g Hastings, theyve got the knack of then finding the next gem (Croft)
It's gonna be hard for you too lose everyone you'd all too and replace them with genuine quality as unfortunately the player pool just isn't that big these days, nd all the other clubs are fishing in the same pool aswell, I said the same thing about Rovers a couple of seasons ago, for every quality player you sign you end up with a Will Mayer type player. It's definitely gonna be a roller coaster ride for you guys Definitely gonna be

it is considering they have to keep rebuilding their squad due to player exits. Is it down to having a smart coach? I think so
Im happy theyve placed a big emphasis and identified players mentalities and attitudes, i think a big downfall is seeing renewals handed out even though players attitudes and application had deteriorated.
I think Smith will bring in a fair few with the correct attitude and workrate. And we l see the back of a fair few who no longer can be arsed. Waiting game now.
