HDM saying expecting two more big signings, guessing marquee players one quota and one non quota, hopefully Whitehead and Hastings (or equivalent)

If I'm correct you are allowed 3 marquee signings one of which has to be federation trained so Whitehead would fit the bill.

Whitehead would be a great signing but I would be surprised if he came. If that's the case we would be limited in finding a federation player worth a marquee wage. It may take a transfer fee but will a club sell one of their best players? no one springs to mind.

Hull FC needed to give their fans the good news about the Asiata signing.

It would have been bad business to delay the announcement.

My view, it was to attract more interest in the Managerial vacancy from more reputable people.

It still doesn't look good when an incoming player feels the need to make a public apology about how his new club handled the announcement, regardless of what we think. When did that ever happen?

Optics are important. Sponsors and investors become cautious of negative press which can soon get out of hand. It's ok being hard faced about it but there's no point in creating unnecessary negativity.

If Asiata spends a significant time on the side lines in the next three years, the club will look foolish. The player himself has alluded to the fact that he's coming for one last big pay cheque. Be all about the business but be smart with it.

I think you're reading too much into it. We released a statement quoting Asiata and now Leigh have done the same. It smacks of Leigh trying to save face. Beaumont is obviously upset at losing his captain.

I was told Whitehead as a marquee a couple of weeks ago, think I put it on here too. I think the only other side he would go to is Catalan if they show interest

I suppose it repends if he still thinks he can play for a year or two more. Then it's a choice between us and Catalans, think we could offer more cash, but the pull of the French lifestyle (but he's been there, so might want a new challenge)

Other than that, not sure who we could possibly sign, weird situation in RL where most clubs seem to be fine financially, even the likes of Cas and Wakey.

We need a centre, 7, 9 and backrow, not sure there is a uk based player that is good enough or a possibility for a marquee spot.

Whitehead has been a great player but we dont want a dads army second row if Holmes is coming in.
Chan from Wigan is the sort of player we should be looking at and i would welcome the club make an effort to sign him and use him as a second row
