Just out of interest, who out of the current squad of 'experienced' players (24 and over with double figure SL games under their belts), regardless of contract status would you want to retain for next season. Not too many, I think.

Ese'ese, Walker (young but plenty of experience), Ashworth, Sutcliffe (not having his best season but still a quality player with bags of experience).

That's a lot of recruiting to be done! Thankfully, there's some high quality youngsters coming through but we need to look after them.

If paying off players wasn't a problem, I'd only keep Walker, Trueman (if he can prove his fitness), ese ese, Ashworth and potentially Cator out of the experienced squad, wouldn't be too fussed if the rest weren't here in 2025

Unrealistic to expect to bring in large numbers of quality uk based players in the current market. They're just not available and I doubt this investment is big enough for us to be paying transfer fees left, right and centre

Hearing Perham has turned us down, and he was out with Nu Brown earlier today

Not too bothered about Perham, would have signed him short term and see how he goes, but I can see why he wouldn't want a 6 month deal.

He is a bit of a risk and we haven't done well out of the Dogs.

Shame we couldn't get Russell until the end of the season, I'd look at Bibby too, but can see why Hudds don't want to release him.

Still like is to bring in at least 3 this season, centre, Halfback and Backrower.

Wouldn't shock me, if we signed Sneyd and /or Partington, if they are still OOC.. or pay a fee immediately

Going against the grain here, but i wouldn't want Sneyd back. No doubting his quality and he's in arguably the form of his career right now but he'll be 34 next season and would he want to come back anyway after he wanted to move back to Manchester to be closer to family.

I'd like to think we'll be targeting someone who we can build the side around for the next few seasons.

Intresting deal, despite his age, Briscoe is definitely a better player than Mcintosh.

Looks like Mcintosh won't be here next season, which is another positive.
