From the sounds of things.. albeit from a very biased commentary it sounded like we were out muscled tonight.
Whoever Joss (the radio guy) is pretty much came out with the line that 'Widnes aren't liking this thuggish... err I mean physical encounter wit Barroow tonight' and I think that is absolutely the case. If a team gets in our faces we need to be able to get right back at them.

Hilarious commentary though.. Barrow were completely flawless if it hadn't been for the Widnes interference that caused every Barrow knock-on or led to each Barrow infringement.

I thought the BBC prided themselves in neutrality.. hence the whole Gaza thing..

I think if you listen to any Local Radio broadcast you get bias. That's what the locals listeners want. However, in the past Jos and Dave Nixon (co commentator and Barrow board member) have been seen as being pretty fair by opposition fans generally. When I listen to them commentating on away games I think they call it TOO neutral.

The fact from last night was that Barrow played very well and should have won by at least the 21 point difference required to knock Widnes out altogether. We had 4 tries disallowed (at least 2 of them fine) and we bombed 3 or 4 other good chances.

Only Duffy stood out from the Widnes team, he never gave up despite getting battered time and time again. Koa Love was totally outplayed by Liam Harrison and Liam Finch was in his face all the match - he threw the toys out of the pram a few times !

I'm sure you have more to offer than what was on show last night, but to be honest so do Barrow.

an atmosphere that isn't created by people in matching shirts clapping along to a drum or novelty PA music might be nice!

The thing that really dissapointed me tongiht, was the fact that I don't think Barrow played brilliantly well. No disrespect meant, as they were head and shoulders above us, but I feel if they would have got out of second gear, they would have put more on us.
We were outmuscled up front by their pack, we just don't seem to have much go forward in us at the moment. Barrow played some good expansive rugby at times in the first half, threw the ball out wide and made breaks on two or three occasions which we didn't look capable on replicating all night. shocking
Although I must praise young Yacca for his defensive efforts, after about 2 minutes he saved a certain try in that corner near the 'raiders' bar. Also didn't think Flynn had too bad a game, as per normal.
