What is everyones opinion regards the Dons not kicking easy penalties. The only time we ve kicked penalties this season we have won the game, if we had taken the opportunity to take the 2 on Sunday we wouldnt be second from bottom.

We have scored the least points in the championship this year.

So is it misplaced optimism by Tony Miller to insist on turning down easy points that may cost us a bonus point or a poor points difference that could result in relegation?

You only have to look at my avatar....that's why I chose it.
Not a comment on the Dons in any way though....just in general.
My attitude is that the game is like a see-saw and that in tight games or at the beginning of games....were momentum is important...take what's on offer.
A few of those can add up and win a game.
A famous one was Sinfield for Leeds turning down a kick.....I think it cost them the cup. IIRC

It's not an exact science, but I do agree there have been times this year I would have kicked the goal.

There have also been times I'd agree kicking was not the best option.

As said we have turned down the chance of 2 points and as Alex Murphy said you don't come away with nothing when you have chance to get something but there have been times when we have scored a try as a result of not kicking for goal but not very often .
the thing is if you miss the kick at goal and it goes dead you retain possession
