Well done Stand -Offish your answer is correct.
February 16th 1952 the Dons played Bradford Northern in the first round of the Challenge Cup at the York Rd Greyhound Stadium in front of a 10,000 crowd
The result was Dons 4 Bradford 7 the Dons points came from goals by Tynan & Griffiths.
This game was the second leg of the competition as at that time the first round was a two legged affair.
The Dons lost the first leg at Bradford 6-5 therefore the Dons lost the tie on a aggregate score Dons 9 Bradford 13
I was there, I went into the Bradford changing room after the game to see Len Haley their stand off. I had done my National Service with him at Strensall. Tus Griffiths was later transferred to Halifax.
