If we win on Friday against Swinton we could go joint top, but do you really think we've played well this year?
On the other hand is that what good teams do, they can still win when not firing on all cylinders.
If we win on Friday we will have the same number of points as a side with a superior goal difference and a game in hand on us.
We'll be second.
I like this Dons team, but an experienced scrum-half would have meant we were top of the table already.
So that's down to limited finances.
All good/great sides have experience/class in the half-backs.
We seem to be happy with youth, which often is not enough.
Can you imagine our side with say Ben Black or Lee Briers or Ian Watson or Darren Holt or you name it.......
We have always struggled for great half-back pairings.
Gale/Briggs was the nearest in recent years.
I am very happy with Spaven though.
He needs some help however.
