New Role for Green : Fri Nov 18, 2011 9:15 pm
Doncaster RLFC have made a backroom change in their efforts to raise much needed revenues for the forthcoming season. The Co-operative Championship 1 side has given Ray Green the role of commercial manager. The former general manager and chief executive of the Dons leaves his community project manager's role in good health and the department will now be overseen by chief executive Carl Hall.
Hall commented: "It's been over two years since Ray made a welcome return to the Dons and he's done a tremendous job raising the profile and status of the community development section.
"As a club we feel the time is right to give Ray a new challenge and I'm confident his past experience and knowledge of the game will prove to be beneficial in this new role.
"We're a very ambitious club who play in a fantastic arena and it's no secret that we're targeting promotion next season so we need to be financially sound if we're to successfully meet our targets.
"We've recently strengthened the communications side of the club to good effect and I feel Ray is the right man to take the Dons forward on the commercial aspect of our operations."
