The annual rule tweak is seeing the number of allowed interchanges going down to 8, and the free play is no longer a thing (I am assuming they are going back to the old advantage rule).

We will not be having Golden Point in the event of a tie after 80 minutes as they are in Super League

I hope they introduce the 'shot clock' for scrums and drop outs as teams are currently taking far too long to restart games. I'd allow goal-kickers one minute to take the kick from the try being awarded. If they don't take it in one minute, it would be deemed 'no goal'. At the moment, kickers seem to drink two gallons of water before taking the kick (all of which I believe is a ploy to get their heart rate down before they take the kick). If we're not careful, before too long, we'll need toilet breaks for kickers too! Eight subs will almost certainly mean the props won't be able to be rotated in the way they are presently. At the moment, teams generally use 6 interchanges for props: two after 20 minutes, two at half-time, and then another two swaps after 60 minutes. We might see the starting props doing 25 minutes, the sub props doing 15 minutes one side of half time, and staying on to do another 20 minutes after half-time, before the starting props then come back for the final 20 minutes. Or something similar on those lines. And another thing, when a team has conceded a try, they shouldn't stand behind the posts, they should go immediately to the halfway line, ready to restart the game. The ref constantly has to stop the clock whilst we wait for the players to trundle back to the halfway line in their own time. That issue needs to be dealt with too.
