Seriously, York and Bradford are involved in four key matches between now and the end of the season. York are at Workington, home to Oldham, and home to Whitehaven. Bradford are away at Oldham. What happens in these games will certainly affect our chances.

This is just a tabled proposal, not something that is happening. Both York and Bradford will want to be Champions

It is a proposal that it says in the article is thoroughly expected to be approved ... not definite ... but that is what it says ... and ergo it might affect how York and/or Bradford approach their games IF they know they are up and therefore affect teams 3 to 5 (and 6 if ratified).

I understand what you're saying but all sports run the risk of 'champions' or 'promoted sides' taking their foot off the gas at some point. There is always an element of luck with regards to who you play and when.

I'd like to think that rugby players are unlike their football counterparts and give 100% even when there may be nothing at stake.

Really think this is exciting news for us. Third spot is more important than ever with this and the next month or so is fascinating. I'm glad that Newcastle and Keighley are out of this but all four games are massive. It's what we want no?

The thought of a play-off final against York or Bradford (away) would be daunting. We'd certainly start as underdogs but if this comes off, we've clearly got a much better chance.

The fact that we lost heavily at Workington means that beating them at home won't be easy though. If we do beat them at the Keepmoat in the last match, we could realistically be at home in the play-off final. That would certainly be an exciting end to the season!

Of course, we've got a few banana skins that could derail us along the way that need negotiating first!!

We we're poor against Workington and our form has improved drastically. I feel we have a real chance of beating them
