It seems such a long time ago that we playing them midweek in the NR dead-rubber and in terms of tomorrows match that is a pretty meaningless result.
The league fixture at Fylde towards the end of April is in theory a better yardstick and the Dons competed well in the first half before falling apart in the second. Worryingly, that comment could apply to last weeks effort at York.
Digging a little deeper though reveals some points which suggest a much closer contest ...
1. Blackpool have lost three of four away fixtures since the Clubs financial issues were revealed.
2. The Dons squad has been bolstered significantly from around the time of that away fixture (though losing Simon Brown is a blow). Rob Lunt and Paul Hughes arrived during the week of that fixture and there have been a further half a dozen additions since.
3. 20 of Blackpool's 48 points in the April fixture were scored by Josh Charnley (on loan from Wigan) who made his SL debut for Hull KR last night.
