I know what you are saying olddon, but I can't see it.
I don't think that these players you allude to would be in next year's side irrespective of promotion. We would need to strengthen to go up ( or stay up) and if players were not up to speed, they would not save their skins by not trying in important games.
I think they did all try, but some were found lacking when it really mattered.
I would never accuse a player of not trying, or a ref of cheating for that matter.
Too many conspiracy theories, if you ask me.
We aren't quite good enough yet, but it will be sorted for next season hopefully.

The players do their best and any short-comings aren't down to bad attitude.

Same applies with refs: When they get it wrong, they're not cheating. They're human and make mistakes.

it would not be fair to player involved to mention names but he was very angry after worky game ,when asked about the game he said if all the team played up to their potential .
