I thought Coventry looked half-decent. As Moonshine said, they moved the ball about well and will give the better sides in the league something to think about. They had more possession in the first half. I felt that if we got our fair share of possession in the second half, we'd have too much for them.
The trialist winger looked to have some pace but made two critical mistakes, both cost us tries. I can't be too harsh on him for the mistakes as everyone makes them. He looked quick and threatening bringing the ball forward. The bigger issue, for me, is that he's quite small and if you're small you've got to be extremely good to make the grade.
Stefanos Bastos looked handy. He ran the ball in well and showed some promise.
I've no doubt that Jordan Cox will prove to be a really good asset. He's going to suck defenders in with his size and create space for those around him.
Matty Beharrell showed why he's one of the best half-backs around. What a good signing he has proven to be.
I must mention Jordie Hedges. For a relatively small guy, he gets stuck in and sees no fear when he takes the line on. He improved no end last season and is going the right way again this season. Playing at 13 is certainly his best position.
And Brandon Douglas needs a mention too. He's a quality prop - the sort we've been crying out for. I wonder how many tries he'll score by the end of the season? He provides a real threat near the goal line and he's got a side-step as well as sheer power.
