I know your post was made at just after five this morning-- but don't understand the part of your post that i've highlighted in your quote.

When has any monies raised by the fans of the Dons ever sat in a bank account for ever and a day?-------Never,as far as i'm aware.
Up to now there has always been a club to give it to ! If all fails what would happen to money raised for a trust, and yes I do sometimes get up early to go to work.

Whilst there is a club to still give to then every avenue needs to be explored, and one of those avenues is the Supporters Trust ---should there become a time the club ceases to exist (God-Forbid) then the Supporters Trust and whoever its member's are would have to decide on what happens to any outstanding monies i would have thought.

And a Saturday morning at that.

I want to get involved..... but financially i have to be careful to commitments as im still on a credit plan when coming close to losing my home last year. This year i am ten times better off financially my mortgage has halved and very close to paying off the chunk of my bad debt. however was mortgage rates to suddenly rise like they did last year then id be struggling again.

I want to help, but have to be very careful when coming to financail commitments.

The more of us on board the better, I think any help over the next few weeks starting from next Tuesdays meeting at the Drum (7.30 kick off) would be great.

Meeting at the Drum next Tuesday 7.30 kick off, the more the merrier, believe it will be hard graft for first few weeks, but worth it to keep the Don s alive.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

When a Supporters Trust is set up the committee and it's members bust agree of their terms of reference, which is to say the aims towards which it strives. This has to be done legally as the comittee are acting as trustees for it's members and need to be accountable for their money.

If the club falls out of existence, the committee have the right to distrobute the money to causes etc which are deemed compatible with those terms of reference.

For example, a supporters trust could have amongst it's objectives this pretty standard one:

"Promote and Encourage inclusion into the game of Rugby League for all; regardless, of age, sex and background"

In which case the money could be donated to groups with the same objective (ie local amataur teams, scholarship schemes etc)
