War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

This division is tight and before the seasons end there will be many sides that "deserve" to win but don't.

You have to punish sides that are playing poorly and stay switched on for the full 80 or this happens.

We (Keighley) have in the past been in your position and lost such games, and I know which I prefer.

Finding a way to squeeze a win from an initial poor performance becomes a habit as does loosing it.

I can't see us playing so badly against you at our place and JD will certainly get our forwards fired up, so it will make for a very interesting rematch.

We will certainly have to play a lot better if we expect to maintain our current position. Swinton and Whitehaven look very handy sides.

It's funny how when a side plays better than yours it's because you played badly. Can't you even give some credit to a side that was playing better than yours until the game turned round.
Keighley never bust us up the middle hardly, they had more speed down the right and showed up our lack of pace. That aside you would have lost.
As for the return, you can put your house on Keighley to win.
If we can't beat you at home after outplaying you for 60% of the game, we have no chance away.

I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!

Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

Anon.

I suppose I could point to this...

My post was intended to be sympathetic not demeaning. There is no doubt that you were the better side for large portions of the game but that isn't always enough is it?

(and we did play poorly  )

I think when Keighley fans say that they were poor on the day then i'd be inclined to agree and wonder about how bad that makes us.

Again im sorry to be the negatice poster yet again (i feel thats all i do lately)...but isnt that 7 losses in a row...are we aiming for last years record of 20 odd or whatever it was?

Don't know about Grant but I was advised that Craig had been 'left out' in favour of Aaron Dobek.

We appear to be using the lottery technique for team selection, or possibly the picking the balls out of the bag FA Cup style format.

I think you are being unfair now.
Miller is in a much better position than we are regarding team selection and injuries, and he only wants the best for Donny.
It's the players on the park who have not delivered.
If Miller had a better say and budget he surely would have us a table-topping side.
The pig's ear on Sunday was down to the players and a lack of strong guidance on the pitch.
We are not good enough and that's not Millers fault.
I think we play some attractive rugby, we are just not fast enough or have enough forward power.

The table never lies.
We are ordinary.
It's easy to take it out on the coach, but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

I disagree about the forwards Stand-Offish. We have a good pack, who make the inroads and set the good platform. It is our backs that are lacking in creativity, pace and a good rugby league brain. I have been saying this all season. There is only one player in the team that has a brain on the pitch, but he is only spelled in 20 minute bursts (regardless of how well he is performong at the time), and NEVER starts a game.

It is all well and good having a young team, but experience will always win over enthusiam. We desperatley need an older head who knows how to kill off a side/ control a game. This was so evident on Sunday with Demetrieou. He was slowing down tackles, talking to refereee all the time. The play of an older head.

We need someone of this ilk - to play at key position - scrum-half, stand off or loose forward. Problem is 1) I don't think there is a player like this about at the moment that is available, and 2) I doubt they would sign based on our now, very public, pay structure.

Re: C1 Keighley - 15/05/11 : Tue May 17, 2011 12:14 pm
I saw two different Donny teams on Sunday.

I saw the team that bossed the park with good go forward and
good defence. Keighley were defending a lot and their big lads
were starting to get tired. Donny were in charge.

I saw the team that lacked direction, struggled to get into
good defensive postions and let Keighley run the show.

We need Kesik for aggressive go forward.
We need Butterfield for effective, organised defence.

Without these two lads in the team we lose our way.
