Aaron thought time was up because of the clock. We have had a few complaints this season about the clock, cant remember who it was now who complained in the after game press conference. Didn't want to say i did the stadium clock as i was writing down his comments
And last night if it was closer with what Aaron did it could have been disastrous. I am considering when the clock gets to about 78 minutes, putting a scroller on saying "THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL MATCH CLOCK" or something along those lines. maybe stopping at 80:00 makes it more confusing than leaving the clock running past that mark.
anybody got any suggestions. it is impossible to be spot on with the time keepers. we do regular checks, but bearing in mind i have to run down to pete, and then run back to our room, then you are back to guessing. but would hate for the clock to be blamed for a loss, so lets get this sorted now.
Nobody is blaming you...and you do a difficult job.
But time is up when you say it's up....the clock is just a guide and players should know that.
You would need a system where the time-keepers control the clock...stopping it and starting it on the refs say so.
If that is what happens at present....then it doesn't work properly. Because 80 mins should be 80 mins...it is on SKY etc.
