Re: Doncaster v West Wales Sunday 23rd May 2.30 pm : Mon May 24, 2021 9:31 am
I've watched West Wales a few times, they've been doing the same thing every game. Competing for 50 minute or so then really falling off. They look fitness and 2/3 players off being a competitive side, and if anything I'd say their forwards are too big up top (built more like union forwards) to carry around for 80 minutes without being supremely fit.On our level, again there were things we could improve on but we do look like we can score from anywhere. The link up between Smeaton and Halliday was good to see, love a good centre/winger partnership. There's a few things I'd be tempted to shuffle about to get the best out of players. Personally I think that Beryl and Boas are both playing the roll of a 7, and we don't really have a 6. Johnston could do that and get Boas in either rotating at 9 (who played 9 when Whitmore wasn't on?) or at full back where he can take on the broken line which is is strongest asset.
Generally I think we are potentially building something good, the players individually are almost all doing a job, just think we need to link up better
