Real ale trek in West Yorkshire last Thursday ...
Dewsbury ...
Kletswater 4.0% (Anglo-Dutch Brewery) in the West Riding Licensed Refreshment Rooms on the Railway Station
(off the train to Hudddersfield at Dewsbury, quick pint and then resume journey).
Huddersfield ...
Excelsior 5.2% (Ossett Brewery) in the Rat and Ratchet -
12 real ales to choose from.
Winkle Picker 4.5% (Whitstable Brewery) and Zeitgeist 4.9% (Brewdog) in the Grove -
18 real ales to choose from.
Barn Owl 4.5% (Cotleigh Brewery) in the Cherry Tree (Wetherspoons).
Welland Valley Mild 3.6% (Great Oakley Brewery) in the Kings Head at Huddersfield Railway Station.
Old Brewery Bitter 3.9% (Samuel Smith) in the Head of Steam at Huddersfield Railway Station.
Holbeck, Leeds ...
Best Bitter 3.9% (Thorne Brewery) in the Grove Inn.
Cock & Hoop 4.3% (Nottingham Brewery) in the Cross Keys.
Midnight Bell 4.8% (Leeds Brewery) in the Midnight Bell.
A great day out and apart from those on Dewsbury and Huddersfield stations, pubs that I had not visited before.
The Rat and Ratchet and Grove in Huddersfield are well worth the effort to check out on the edge of the town centre.
Pint of the day ... the Midnight Bell (but then it is a favourite of mine and a fantastic way to end the day).
