Tried Marstons Powder Cask 4.1% in the Howard (Sheffield) after a gig at the Leadmill last night.

Had not had it before and it was reasonable without being exceptional.

Pretty much a typical brown bitter but with no particular dominant flavour. Certainly not the best I've tasted from Marstons.

Been on several times at my haunt the Bluecoat but., needless to say, doesn't last very long.

Some of the festival ales sampled to date but not so far reported ...

Admans Champion Pale Ale 3.4%
Greene King Boss Hogg 4.1%
Woodfordes Dragon Hall Bitter 4.4%
Wadworth Fairport Five 5.0%
Everards Old Original 5.2%

Best of those being the Old Original - a reasonably strong brown bitter.
