I can only assume it is someone who has been here before or was born here and wants to represent the club before they retire? either that or they can make more money part time because of that riduculous rule about having no more than 20 players on over 20k (is that rule still in place in super league?)

We have not offered massive money and the player says money is not the deceiding factor

We're all guessing at this stage but given what we know, maybe the player sees a future in coaching, realises that he will have to ply his trade in the lower leagues as a coach before possibly graduating to be a Super League coach, and wants to get some first hand experience of playing at this level.

We're all motivated to do things for different reasons. Thank goodness this guy seems motivated to want to play for the Dons!

Chunkster ... don't know whether you can reveal this, but will the player concerned be at the meeting?

I personally think that we shouldn't know who this player is and that to find out would totally spoil the meeting.
It's looking to me, and I hope I am not wrong, that this player is quite special.
I want to go to the meeting and be gob-smacked.
That's what I want.

I assume the player will be on a paid contract attracting a regular payment from the club. I will be attending the meeting & trying to get others from the Thorne area to attend .

You are correct. This thread is like poking your finger through the Christmas wrapping paper before the 25th of December. I just hope we don't end up with the RL equivalent of a pair of socks.

I hope personally that it is someone completely new to the club and not someone returning.

I can't see it being a pair of socks after all this hype.
