Like the stuff at the Keepmoat ?. An improvement on John Smiths I grant you but only just. And bottle conditioned Real Ale is full of flavour and aroma but that would ecape a Tetleys Moth man

Tonight it will likely be the Moth at Headingley. But tomorrow it is the Head of Steam, Slubbers & the, as yet, untried Sportsman in Huddersfield. Plus others hopefully.

A new one to me sampled in the Tut yesterday Wooden Hand Cornish Mutiny 4.8%. Also new and sampled in the Old Angel was Thornbridge Equinox 5.9%

Add to that Acorn Old Moor Porter (Red Lion) and Thorne Coal Black Porter (Old Angel) and a pleaseant evening indeed was had.

You might be interested in an upcoming Meet the Brewer night at the Bluecoat in Rotherham featuring the Thorne Brewery! I would like to think I planted the seed in the manager's mind. I will let you know the date if any of you are interested, as soon as it is confirmed.

Talking of Thorne Brewery ... I've yet to see the Chairmans Stout anywhere.

Bottles last night ... a few old favourites, Abbot Reserve, Wychwood Hobgoblin, Thwaites Liberation and Lancaster Bomber plus two more from the Barnsley Beer Company ...

Shut Thi Gob 5.1% (a Strong Brown Ale)
Owd Tyke 4.6% (a Ruby Red Ale)

slight preference was for the 'Ruby Red'.

Last time we played Swinton Lions, we popped into a Holts House only about a mile from Sedgley Park. Been trying to work out its name this morning and I think it must have been the Eagle and Child, Higher Lane, Whitefield M45 7EY.

They also do food.
