The Dons take on the defending Champions in the Challenge Cup.

The only thing I think we can really hope for is a big crowd to bring in a few pennies (or should that be euros) and no injuries from a game that could be quite brutally punishing for our lads.

Thankfully the weather forecast is for around 20 degrees.

Is anyone going?

Apologies, I had intended to start this thread but my head is elsewhere with my other sporting club on the edge of the abyss and facing administration or liquidation today. Dark days!

Re the trip to France, I'm with you, praying for no new injuries. Hope that the players enjoy the experience and that everyone travelling has a safe and incident free journey.

I can see BW being in the same boat as Keighley were, minus 12 to start the season. Not good.

If the Dons come back from France (Spain) without any further injuries it will be a bonus. I hope that the team and supporters enjoy the trip.

There is the potential for it to be worse than that as there may also be a points deduction for failing to fulfill a fixture (home v Brentford)

With a bit of luck, any points deduction for missing the Brentford game will apply to the current season, meaning Bolton would officially be bottom below Ipswich, with the associated punishment that you'd receive less 'prize money' for finishing bottom compared to second bottom. I suppose they might give you a fine as well.

It'd be a bit harsh to start the 2020-21 season with a double whammy 24 point deduction.

There has been a suggestion that the points deduction for failing to fulfill a fixture might be 3 points and BWFC might start next season on minus 15.

No such issue at the Dons ... we just need promotion to the championship

Now that would be telling.....

It was on the RFLs Match Previews website. I then looked on the Dons Match Preview page (top right of the website) and it's on there too.

It's not always declared early by the RFL but the squad can be listed there first sometimes, before it's on our own site, so I usually take a little look to see.
