1895 cup: Dons v Eagles Wed 26th June 7.30 at Fev

Another trip to Featherstone....

The other quarter-final ties are:

Leigh v Barrow
York v Batley
Widnes v Dewsbury

The semi-finals take place on Sunday 28th July. No League One games are scheduled for this particular weekend.

I can't help but think this is a distraction we could do without. Winning at Coventry three days later is more important.

Sheffield beat Rochdale in the league 46-24 last Friday night.

League Express are reporting that Menzie Yere will not be permitted (by Sheffield) to play for the Dons in this fixture.

I didn’t hear any attendance figures announced for the Newcastle game.

Will be interesting to find the numbers for Wednesday but I’m guessing the omens aren’t looking good, given 1) it’s at Fev, 2) it’s midweek, 3) we’re coming in on the back of a disappointing loss, 4) it’s not covered by the season ticket.

Ok, we’re effectively only 80-minutes from Wembley but this is only a distraction from our priority goal.

I’m not sure if we have the luxury of resting any players but I’d certainly rather see us come back from Coventry with the two league points.

Good luck to those that decide to travel, I really hope it’s worthwhile.

I was speaking to a Fev fan on Saturday. He said he enjoyed the Newcastle game but wouldn't be attending on Wednesday as he's not a fan of the 1895 cup.

Bare bones of around 200 to 250 on Wednesday, I would guess.

If it wasn't for the fact that I already had a ticket and it was a nice day and I wanted to see how we stacked up against Newcastle, I wouldn't have gone on Saturday never mind Wednesday.

League Express reporting 549. I could be wrong, but I guess that includes Dons ST holders whether in attendance or not?

I know we were shown up in the chanting department by about 8 Thunder fans.
Oh and a bloody drum.
Why oh why do they allow them in?

Interesting....

According to Wikipedia the home attendance v Oldham was 678. Oldham brought a few with them that day.

The full list of attendances for our league games this season is:

Hunslet 734, Workington 640, Coventry 562, N Wales 658, W Wales 526, Oldham 678.

Wikipedia are showing the source data as coming from League Express.

Drums are a pain in the backside. Thank goodness the drummer was behind the goal.

ironically, Hull KR are presently holding a vote to see whether drums should be allowed into their ground.
