No mention of this game thus far, not even a section in the Free Press ...
Could it be that we don't want to consider the outcome?
I could write a treatise on this game, but won't.
We can always claim that it won't change a lot, but what it will do is demonstrate just where we are at .. win and there is hope ... lose and we truly are pretty crap.
I have my prediction written on a piece of paper locked in my safe in my secret underground bunker somewhere on my estate.
I have Rob Nash imprisoned there too, hence his disappearance. Unless he has escaped!

Dear Santa,
Could you please do Christmas early this year on 18/8
I would like a fit Brad England.
As for Brad himself, imagine the look on the lads face when he wakes up on Saturday morning to find a number 4 shirt under the tree.

League Table: (Pld, Pts, Pts Diff, Max Possible Points)

1) Whitehaven 17, 26, +130, 32
2) Oldham 17, 24, +230, 30
3) Newcastle 17, 23, +261, 29
4) Hunslet 17, 22, +241, 28
5) Dons 17, 20, +219, 26
6) Worky 18, 19, +126, 23
7) London 18, 15, -80, 19

Matches left to be played:

Whitehaven: Keighley (H), W Wales (H), Coventry (A)
Oldham: Dons (H), Coventry (A), Hunslet (A).
Newcastle: Coventry (H), N Wales (H), Keighley (A).
Hunslet: London (A), Workington (H), Oldham (H).
Dons: Oldham (A), Keighley (H), Workington (A).
Workington: Hunslet (A), Dons (H).

Based on the games left this is how I see it finishing:

Whitehaven 32pts
Newcastle 29pts
Oldham 26 to 30pts
Hunslet 22 to 28pts
Dons 20 to 26pts
Worky 19 to 23pts

If we lose to Oldham, we cannot catch them. Fourth place would then be the best we could hope for.

Should Hunslet win their last three, beating London, Worky, and Oldham, we can't catch them either.

None of these games are easy wins for Hunslet, so we still have chances. Hunslet play next at London on Friday 23rd August. We certainly need London to win that.

This weekend's game is vital for the Dons because we could well end up playing Oldham again in the play-offs. Beating them this weekend for the third time this season would be a big boost. It would certainly put doubt in Oldham's mind as to whether they could beat us in the play-offs.

Whichever way we look at it, I suspect that to get promoted we will probably have to beat Newcastle away should we get to the final.

Oldham had a field day according to that ... they even scored 12 points for us. Must have felt sorry for us.

I think the Keighley game will be our last match at the Keepmoat this season ...
enjoy it!

Oldham have everything to play for ... a chance to go top if Whitehaven slip up, a chance to cement second if not, a chance to gain sweet revenge for the 31-0 drubbing and the 1895 Cup defeat ...
That might just mean that they will try too hard and make a lot of mistakes again.
We will see, I think they will run right over the top of a certain individual if he plays. I wouldn't play him, well not from the start.
And I think we will come home empty-handed.

We haven't had Logan this season so whilst not impossible, it would be a surprise if he did suddenly play for us now.
