Steve , I am as disappointed as you are about Kyle . I think there has been a personality clash between KK & RH .

That may be the case. Didn't Kyle lose the captaincy shortly after Richard Horne took over?

Sad to see Kes go as he's stuck with us for so many years.

Wow the Coach/Manager of a sports team fails to see eye to eye with one of his players. Players moves on, never heard the like of it before.

I don't think Kyle losing the captaincy is an issue, coaches see different qualities in players that us as fans do not.
I know Ryan Boyle was not proved to be highly regarded by fans , however as the saying goes "New broom sweeps clean" and RH will have wanted to impress his own style of play on the team from the get go.

With us utilising the DR and supposedly having so many players from Hull on long term loans, I figured Jez Litten would be our starting hooker, partnered by Kieran Cross as our style of play under GT was too one dimensional and Litten and Cross's speed around the ruck would help with a more expansive style of play ,which we have seen RH try to develop over the last two years.

However the less said about DR the better , ........................... in my eyes Boyle was a player with proven Super League experience and would carry the respect of the players and provide a new voice in the dressing room.

Weather Kk agreed with the decision or not is irrelevant ,he is one of a small number of parts that make up a team and I am sure he would have been man enough to accept the coaches decision.

RH is the coach and he lives or dies by his results on the field , implying him and Kyle didn't see eye to eye is not an issue in my book , I am sure everyone has a person they work with who they don't see eye to eye with but you get on and do your job.

Kyle will i'm sure be an asset to whichever club he signs for , but for fans to say they are staying away next year because a certain player has left is ridiculous , We should be looking forward to next season and awaiting new signings not moaning about players leaving.

Its the manner of his departure that has upset many people, still the club hasnt made it "official" which is a shame.

RH will live or die by his closed season recruitment, its not going to be easy again to get out of this league, there will be less and less involvement from Hull due to them running a second team so we will have less availability from there so we need to ensure we are not putting all our eggs in that basket, we need a strong 17 that is players who are committed to the Dons for the full season or a set period of time (full season loans, short term loans).

Its of paramount importance that the club tries to retain Matty Beharrell and hopefully secure the perminant services of Watson Boas as well. Hopefully Jordie will remain as well he is progressing into a good 13.

We are lacking in forward clout so need some big powerful forwards how make the hard yards and the occasional offload.

If we retain our 2nd rowers than we are good in that area I think.

I think a quality centre to compliment Tali is required as well as an elusive full back, Howden has done well there and has been solid with kicks and returns but doesnt give us that broken field excitement you sometimes get from when we had the likes of Hakim there.

The final thing the club need to get right is the avoidance of the Home games on the road scenario, they must already know now for next year when the Rovers want to redo the pitch, and surely we should now be trying to get agreement from the RFL that we dont play any home games during this period similar to the agreement that have with Toronto. Many including me will argue that surrendering homefield advantage cost us this season, we could have maybe sneaked into second with those dropped points which would have meant hometimes in the playoffs and I suspect we may have fared better than the tight pitch at Oldham and having to trek to Newcastle especially for at 12noon kickoff.

I agree with all of the above , Matty B signing is a must , Watson is on loan so could go back to Fev unless they are promoted .
He was been an asset for us this season with his broken play running and would be a good signing to show our intent for the coming season.

Frankie and Brad were greatly missed in my opinion and having them both available, would I am sure have seem us promoted.
Losing Ryan Dixon and Kieran Cross were also low points for me as they both looked well early in the year.

On a positive not , I would hope the club try to keep Matty Chrimes and Tom Halliday as I have been impressed with both their performances this year.

Getting Cross back fit its an excellent point, he support play is outstanding, a real poachers eye for a try which we have missed.

Sam signing a two year deal is a step in the right direction , I has read RM Sports post again about players being released and I think Kyle left before the club had played its hand and made him an offer.

I also noticed from his other half that he is heading to Keighley.

There he will be playing for, and with former players and coaches , so it should be an easy transition for him, and im sure he will add to their worth.

I await the clubs released list with trepidation, but I am hopeful of a few surprises from left field in the transfer market.

Only time will tell

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

I too hope we get some decent signings.
I would spend it all on props and a class back.

Fed up of one or two half decent players coming followed by unestablished players making up the rest as we wait for the special player that NEVER comes.
Steptoe and Son will limp on...

According to the Halifax forum site Jake Webster is close to signing for Keighley .

Will it be the case that six months down the line the club will be begging the loyal fans to bail them out once again when all the money has been blown ( see Bradford , Halifax ) on over paid has-beens massive contract.

Webster will be a high earner at the Bulls and with them being in special measures they are probably looking to ease their financial burden going in to next season.

It also says we have signed a winger from the Bulls who was interesting Fax.
However according to the thread they could not match our contract offer, which is very interesting if true.
