London Skolars (financial) and Newcastle Thunder (coach) both have existing links with Toronto Wolfpack.

I assume we want Newcastle to make this agreement because DR is the all defeating devil...isn't it?

I believe that if both parties are committed to making DR work, it can. Last season's arrangement between Leeds and Featherstone highlighted what can be achieved.

Hull had an agenda last season that saw them wanting to reduce their squad size and wage bill which wasn't conducive to their fringe players coming to Donny. Had the likes of Hakim Miloudi, Jack Logan, and other players who went on loan to Championship clubs come our way, I'm sure it would have made a difference to our final 2019 outcome.

The Dons tried to put measures in place through the 'enhanced DR deal' to make sure Hull received sufficient financial reward for providing players but for whatever reasons this didn't work.

If a club uses DR as a substitute for building a strong squad of its own, it won't work either. A successful DR relationship will be where the lower league side isn't dependent on it, but can benefit significantly from it.

It will be interesting to see what sort of fist Newcastle make of it should they team up with Toronto.
