Yes it was the Australian forward Darren Pullinger he arrived & the Dons along with his friend Mick Coggins & he played in the Dragons first ever game at the Meadowcourt Stadium scoring a try in the defeat of York by 31-8.

It later came to light that he hadn't played sufficient first grade games in Australia to qualify to play in the UK & he was banned from playing in this country.

The clue about a Scottish car maker was the Galloway Car built in Scotland was specially designed for the ladies by Dorothee Pullinger.

The Rugby League Allstars (1953). The fixture was originally intended to be played at York Road.
