Quote Keith Lard's Dog="Keith Lard's Dog"I can understand the idea of having more quality in Super League however two divisions of ten teams will obviously lead to less revenue unless more round robin fixtures are introduced which for me spoils the league.'"
I was reading the Hull forum yesterday and they very much share this view: round robin or loop fixtures spoil the league. We know from experience how messy it gets when the league splits halfway through a season. Planning holidays around unknown fixture lists etc, is a nightmare.
Teams probably need a minimum of 14 home league games to bring in the revenue they need. That can't happen with a 10 team league unless you split it into two fives, to generate 4 more home games... but then that would basically be replicating the play-offs before they happened. Playing the same teams too often also makes it boring.
It's all certainly a difficult puzzle to solve and whichever way the RFL jump isn't going to suit everybody!
May main hope is a sefish one in that I hope the Dons have still got a league to play in.
