Have some great memories of Tattersfield especially from the 70s and 80s when I used to go to games with my dad. My dad's last match was in early September 1987 when we beat Batley. He died three days later.
When fans and players are almost within touching distance of each other, it creates a proper buzz. Compare that to the sterile atmosphere we have now and you realise what you're missing.
Could you imagine the players doing a 30 minute warm-up at Tattersfield before a match? The last blades of grass would disappear and they'd need to jump in the bath before the game started!
