Swinton vs Dons 3rd July 2022 @ 3pm : Tue Jun 28, 2022 9:42 am
Well after that fine win at Crusaders it is game on for second place.
Showing me potentially, at least, to be wrong again about this Dons outfit.
If Crusaders had won there would have been a points difference of 6 between the two teams, but now it is 2.
Similarly with Swinton.....

Thanks to DM's excellent table we can see Swinton's home results and they have had ONE impressive result, beating Rochdale. All the other wins were them putting 50-ish against bottom clubs.
Their only defeat at home was a tight low scoring defeat against the Crusaders, who we just beat away.
So will we turn up?
It looks like Swinton are very tight at home....but win this one and we will be the form team apart from Keighley.
We have to give this game a real go and not do a Workington and our season is then transformed and well back on track...

Swinton tore us apart at home and looked very impressive but I watched them play Cornwall recently and their forwards didn't grab the game as they should have done.

If our forwards can do a good job on them, there's no reason why we can't turn them over.

Assuming Keighley are promoted, it's a battle between us, Swinton, Rochdale, North Wales and Hunslet for the other promotion place. Has N Wales bubble burst or is their present drop off in form just a blip?

I presume the play-offs are taking the same format as last season? I've included the play-off schedule above. Finishing second or third is vital really.

20 unanswered points in the 2nd half for the Dons.

Ollett-Hobson , McConnell & Storey score tries . Boas 3 conv & a penalty win it for the Dons.

Well done !

Well there we have it...the second surprise of the season.
We are right in there now for second place....
At 12-0 down I thought after the lord mayor's show again...
But no...cracking commitment.

Good win.

There appear to be any number of inconsistent teams, Keighley apart, in League One.

Well that's the second week in a row that the team have overturned the 'Keepmoat' result against top six opponents. Hats off to the Squad, RH and the back room staff. Very pleasing result to do the second best team in the League on their own patch. Must admit I thought we would get beat today but that is a big result in the context of the season so far.

After both the Swinton and North Wales home games I genuinely thought they were the best two teams in our division, since then Keighley have beaten them both and so are we. I suspect this is part us improving and part them getting worse, hope that trend continues til the end of the season

I agree. We very much looked up against it after those two home defeats. We've probably got better whilst Swinton and N Wales form has dropped off. It'll be interesting to see how we go in the home games against Keighley and Rochdale.
