Dons v Cornwall Sunday 20th August 2023 3pm : Fri Aug 11, 2023 9:57 pm
Table:
1. Dewsbury, 17, 31, Promoted 2. Hunslet, 16, 26, +258 3. Dons, 16, 24, +180 4. Oldham, 15, 21, +260 5. Workington, 16, 20, +135 6. N Wales, 17, 12, +41 7. Rochdale, 15, 10, -133 Fixtures: Hunslet: London (H), Workington (A) Dons: Cornwall (H), Dewsbury (H) Oldham: Rochdale (A), Workington (H), Midlands (H) Workington: Oldham (A), Hunslet (H) N Wales: London (H) Rochdale: Oldham (H), London (H), Cornwall (H) We can only catch Hunslet if they drop points - possibly by losing at Workington. We must beat Cornwall and Dewsbury or else third is the best we can hope for. If we win both our games, we'd then be level on points with Hunslet if they lost at Workington. Points difference would come into play. If Hunslet beat London convincingly, it would be hard to see Hunslet's present 78 point advantage being over-turned. If we lose to Dewsbury, Oldham can catch us if they win their three remaining games. Second place looks a step too far. It appears likely that we're going to be playing Oldham in the play-offs. That will be at home if we finish third and away if we finish fourth. The winner of that match would then be away at Hunslet the following weekend. |
