Can the ground really only hold 10k?

good effort by PNG, only 4-0 at HT is a great defensive stint.

10K in, 10K+ out.

This is part of the reason real rugby league fans would like to see some money spent on PNG rugby league. LRO has only been able to hold about 15,000 ever. The fact larger crowds have jammed in is a testament to the following of the game there.

We always have the same situation of more people outside the grounds in PNG than can enter. This is the only reason tear-gas is used; to disperse heaps of frustrated people who can't fit in the poor quality stadia. Same in Rabaul, Lae, Mt Hagen, Goroka etc.

Poor PNG. If the Chinese had been involved there, they would have got a beautiful big stadium out of the deal out some stage. We Australians gave them nothing in terms of facilities for sport before their independence.

Agreed, the way mining companies plunder PNG but put so little back is a scandal. They should put a sports tax on mining exports to develop their stadia and use sport as a vehicle for social change and improvement. If anywhere deserves a 40k RL stadia its Port Moresby!
