not massively to be honest. blackpool is very much football centric as is the northern parts of the fylde region. south of blackpool its rugby union that takes sway.
this impacts the media attention in general. the amount of coverage was increased following the 9's win last year and has been better this year largely thanks to good form, but the press don't give a lot, and there is a general feeling that the club could put themselves out there a bit more too - although its tough when not a lot of people seem to care.
the problem isn't isolated to the local area either - the RL press don't seem to care too much. you hear all about france, london and wales from sky. the papers are very good at covering the amatuer teams and also yorkshire based clubs in the lower leagues (maybe because of the yorkshire base/bias there) but don't seem to care about blackpool.
the two greatest try scorers in the history of the game ended their playing days at borough but who cares because kevin sinfield started at oldham so lets talk about them. panthers actually won the biggest game in their history but siddal had lee greenwood so lets talk about them. hunslet are getting 'top of the league' credit but they aren't the unbeaten ones!
