A young Knights team with just a few first team players only just got beat by a near full first team Keighley, the Knights were missing 9 first team players plus the three new signings, well played.

The Cougars included the new signings, barring a couple, but it was by no means the first team. I don't know the York team so I can't comment, but feel your assessment of the "first team" is inaccurate and misleading.

J,D, said he was bringing a strong squad and he did, O.K. you had a couple of players missing, York Had 5 local lads having a trial two of them at halfback with at least 9 first team players sat in the stands, I know which coach was the happiest after the game

More than a couple my friend. Strong squad doesn't mean first team though and whilst I appreciate York will be the happier of the teams in terms of performance, you are obviously trying to devalue the Cougars performance to highlight that of York which I don't blame you for. I'm sure the next time we meet there will be different players that take the field and am confident you'll see a more polished Cougars. Congrats to you guys though. We are definitely work in progress and will take a lot from the game.

We were missing Jones, Barnett, March, Sagar, Wray and Normington, all of whome i expect to be first team regulars. Several players in the squad we're local keighley lads playing their first or second game for keighley. some of them from amateur teams, some of them from junior teams.
