From The RFL site Reasons for Decision Having viewed the DVD it is accepted this was a good initial tackle. As the players go to ground there is clearly some head contact from the tackling player at his instigation. There is tangling of legs and use of feet from both players. It is accepted there is some provocation by the tackling player. The retaliation from the player uses punches of considerable force to the head of the opponent who goes to ground. In deciding the appropriate sanction the tribunal take into account the acceptance of guilt, the remorse shown and the player’s dismissal from the field at an important time in the match. Taking into account the players previous record which includes punching this tribunal feel that a 2 match suspension and £300 fine are appropriate. - See more at: http://www.rugby-league.com/the_rfl/dis ... 9V8lV.dpuf |
