Re: That London : Wed Feb 15, 2017 10:32 am
Greenwood was disappointing, but he was definitely testing his knee at some stoppages in play. Needs resting or, as Pickering says another one of those and somebody else deserves a shot. Blair was almost Trappist quiet, without doing owt wrong. A positive in the backrow was Lawler who looks bigger and hopefully better in 2017. The spine (vertebrae?) were all pretty decent. We weren't great, but London weren't at all bad either.[/quote]
The decision on "resting" players will be our first taste of T.S. coaching style.
Do you change the team following a poor display and use the squad irrelevant of the appornants thus sending out the message that no one player is greater than the team ?
Or do you perciver with the occasional below average performance but keep the team together to build understanding and development of game plans ?
Is it best to wait until we play what is pesived as a "weaker" team to rest players and use the squad to test development.
We have a lot of young players in the squad now and no under 23 team for them to play in. We have to use them and build their skill sets so when required ( thinking of last 2 seasons injury situation) are match ready to step in a understand the plays and calls. Going on loan isn't always the answer and there is only so much you can learn on the practice pitch.
