It's a real shame about the Heff having to be released from his contract. I really rated him but he has decided to go back to Australia to continue his recovery. Although he will be missed, his health has to come first and has therefore made the right decision in my view. I really hope he enjoyed his time here and that he finds success in whatever path he chooses in the future.

It's a real shame for the lad. I really rated him as a player but as has been said the long term effects of concussion are a real worry so this decision is the right one. Best of look to him in whatever he does in the future

Crying shame for the lad, he showed great potential in the short time he was here. His health has to come 1st and hopefully he will be fine long term.

I think the writing was on the wall but as has been said his health comes first looked a class player though

Rotten news for Rovers and more importantly for the player.

When Heff collapsed in what turned out to be his final appearance against Widnes back in April it did shock me. We regularly see players go off with concussion and it is always a concern but this was different. He walked away after a routine collision apparently unaffected and a few seconds later simply crumpled to the ground. It was obvious he wouldn't be playing for a good while and it is worrying that he is still having symptoms months later.

I hoped Heff would make a full recovery and continue his highly promising career he is amazingly talented but we have to agree that his long term health comes first. He is taking at least another year out of the game but he is coming to terms with the fact that his playing career could be over at age 23.

In his brief time at Hull KR Andrew Heffernan has endeared himself to all Rovers fans for his brilliant play and his outstanding role as a club ambassador in the community. He has been a real asset on and off the pitch and we will miss him. Good luck to him in whatever role he pursues.

Great player seemed like a great bloke two always had time for younger fans. Knew what it meant to pull on that shirt...

Fully agree with all the posts above.Class act on and off the field.Was already a very good centre but this leaves you wondering just how good he would have become? Reminded me of Moon how he played with great feet and step but better hands and a wingers dream of a centre. He and Vai Vai should have been the pairing to take us forward.Crooks has slotted in well tbf but it's sad for a young guy to have to leave like this..

Did we have this problem with concussion years ago if we did why on Earth has something not been done about it and if we did not why now is it the speed of the modern game that’s making it happen when you get very good players like heff having to maybe retire at what 23 something is wrong with our game but get well soon heff

Tough for the lad but he’s done the right thing under the circumstances.

Seems to have his head screwed on right, so here’s to a bright future for him.
