With Craig Hall scoring for fun, and the fanfare that surrounded Todd Carney, Ben Crooks hasn't had much press or attention. He has sort of slipped under the radar but for me I think this was a very, very good signing. Ill be honest and say I have never really rated him that much with the clubs he has had, but since playing for us I have seen a lot more of him. He (like Hall) seems a totally different player than the wafer thin nervous one I saw play for FC.His defence seems as good as most top centres in the league, his returns are at pace and makes yards, haven't noticed any brain farts in attack or defence and looks like a centre wingers like to play with.
I would not hesitate on offering him a 2-3 year deal. A massive upgrade on Salter, homegrown and would imagine not on a kings ransom.
The same goes for Hall, fans used the phrase rocks and diamonds to describe him. Well 7 tries in 4 games tells a story itself, but he seems to have got rid of the parts of his game where he took unnecessary risks, making him look stupid.
