Didnt he play well on the wing last season, played well at full back and centre when at bradford.ok.

Full back is his preferred position I thought he was a bit wasted on the wing last season

Not ideal but you do have a few options in the centres still. A lot depends on Heffernan managing to keep fit. But you can go with Heff/Vaivai As starting centres. Salter can provide cover, and if needs be I'd imagine Blair can do the occasional game. If really needs be, I also wouldn't be surprised to see you make a move for Jack Logan on loan again.
Like I said, not ideal situation, but if Vaivai turns out to be a good player then Minns may not have been a first choice 17 player anyway.

But a big shame and waste of talent. Not a good year for rugby and drugs tests.

Bad mistake for a pro sportsman and it sounds like he’ll pay the well established price.

Leaves us with a hole in the squad too. I take back what I said about Jimmy Keinhorst the other day, now.

I think we’re still a fair way off that (touch wood).

Same reasons anybody does it, I guess. It’s just that reasons not too are even bigger for them - as you say, they risk their livelihood - making it such a poor life choice.

I doubt it’ll be a popular opinion, but i’d look at Blair at centre and adding a bigger backrower to the squad. We could see it as an opportunity to add some size/power.

We’ve had every sort of risk explode on us in the last few years and can cite precedent against just about any potential signing, but Logan’s combination of being fairly lightweight, his relative inexperience and injury-proneness would put me off. Depending on fitness etc., i’d rather we tried Oakes, Marsh, Wardill or Robinson there if we’re going down that route.

Statement from the club and Thomas Minns:

http://www.hullkr.co.uk/hull-kingston-r ... mas-minns/

There’s no doubting he made a mistake, but he’s still a human being. And tbf, rightly or wrongly, the club has ‘stood by’ players who’ve done worse (imo), in the past.

The poor man's bonaire

Re: Minns : Wed Apr 18, 2018 9:32 pm
Mitigating circumstances? Do we all resort to class A drugs when we're feeling a bit down? He needs the same ban as hardaker. These players are role models for kids and should act appropriately but unfortunately the average pro rugby player doesn't seem to have the brains he was probably born with.

I hope he gets the right support but he deserves a lengthy ban.

Interesting that the RFU have given a player a 4 year ban for steroid use. Good on them for taking a strong stance

I think your right I know he was upset about his mother but to me he seems to be using it as an excuse to take drugs he has a young kid maybe he should have thought how it would affect his family before he went down the poor me route

MIKE SMITH- THE BEST CENTRE HULL HAS EVER MADE!

Re: Minns : Wed Apr 18, 2018 10:04 pm
there seems to be a culture with some young fit sportsmen having a sniff, if they must then at least use their brains about it, if its coke then his statement about having it on mothering sunday doesn't add up as he was tested on Thursday after so it should have been out of his system unless he is a very regular user,he knew the consequences , sorry it cost him his job but nobody is exempt.
