You thought there was effort in that performance from rovers lol, and yes I was there. If booting the ball in to touch every time we were near the fax line chasing the game is classed as effort, then yea, there was plenty.
To me, bending down with your hands on your knees mean that you're pretty tired. Fax players a plenty today doing that, but a fair few HKR players as well. By effort, I mean walking off the pitch having given your all. I did think that neither team had left anything in the tank today?
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Best team by far today Chief.
We put in a weird performance and the return fixture will be interesting.
Rover's have potentially shot ourselves in the foot today, realistically, we have the better team, we've spent more money on players, we have better facilities, we have many more back staff.
But we lost.
Fax will think that they've got our number.
Pretty much all of our performances this season have smacked of arrogance and some sort of divine right to be promoted.
You get feck all in this life if you don't work and Rovers don't yet understand that.
The reality is that the team today and daft tactics were miles away from the one that will take the field in the 8's. Sheens has been planning meticulously for almost a year and we have pulled off some top signings IF we even need them with other SL clubs keen for us to return. We are in a great position with a far stronger team than last year. Time for positivity methinks.
TBH you will get promoted by right. Cats at your place are there for the taking. Clearly your recent results are pretty poor but you have beaten Leigh away already with a worse team. Possibly the players or coaches attitude needs to be questioned recently, but you should have enough, I hope I am wrong mind,

do you mean the cats that did the league double over you or the boys that you played in the cup?one consolation of not going up is the bumper pay day we provide for you is not there.

I suppose we'll have to console ourselves by looking forward to a semi-final, 7 SL S8 games, likely SL playoffs, potentially a final, and a trip to Sydney in the new year.
You remind me of that Harry Enfield character. "I have considerably more money than yoau" Fwiw I reckon the winner on Saturday will win final also but from my view I'm not thinking of fc until hopefully next season when the derby may be back.

Just being honest. We have a lot to look forward to at the moment and mourning the los of the derby is pretty low in our thoughts. Personally I think we'll lose on Saturday in a tight game, I was pretty confident last year v Wigan, but Leeds seem to have our cards marked.
I'd welcome the derby back (providing it doesn't get diluted by playing 4/5times a year), and I'd welcome you replacing either Widnes or Leigh in SL as they are two crap clubs that bring nothing to the comp.

Also, how much £ qualifies as a bumper pay day?
I would guess looking at the fixture against Leigh (who replaced us) with 11000 in attendance rather than Hull KR with 21000 in attendance, 10000 tickets at an average of say £20 that's £200,000 plus the lost revenue in hospitality (which is always sold out) plus money behind the bars.
I would say that Hull FC have lost about £250,000 this season. Don't know about you but I would say that is "bumper" money, wouldn't you?

But that loss has been offset, by how f00king funny it was that you were relegated
(BTW, I do hope you come back up!)
