Just goes to prove how poor SL is at this time. Treble winners 2nd bottom, Huddersfield can't buy a win Wigan getting stuffed by Wakey.
Super League is different and a bit bizarre this year, Barham. Our beloved sport has dished up more unpredictable results than ever on the pitch at the half way stage, with a different new order in the top half of the league. Recruiting good quality NRL players in key positions would seem to be an indicator of success to date, possibly breaking the salary cap by creative means looking at the crowd in Perpignan.
Whether the top 6 will finish that way come season end is debatable. It depends purely on injuries to key players imo and the quality of squad depth.
Anything's possible now. Hull kicking on and winning the league and ending up losing the Grand Final. Rovers finishing in the top 8, Wakefield finishing in the top half of the table, Salford being deducted 10 points. I expect our Black and White friends will resort to predictable "pigs might fly" responses to this.
I guarantee the following will remain absolute certainties going into next season:
- Our refereeing standards will remain dire
- Our RFL disciplinary interpretations, procedures and outcomes will remain inconsistent
- We will continue to under fund and under market our great sport on a national scale and allow that idiotic code that is yawnion to remain ludicrously over exposed and pinch our best players
- The gulf in quality between SL and NRL games from a skill perspective will widen unless we improve the cap
- Radford In T Shirts will outsell Hull City of Culture 2017 T Shirts over the next 12 months
Gotta go, before the men in white coats arrive.
