If we keep winning we can afford to rest a few players and risk the odd fixture. A cup run won't hurt the squad. Hopefully it would give them more experience against superleague teams.
Downside is the superleague teams get a better look at us and take us more seriously as a threat in the play offs.
We have a very good coach. There are only two competitions why wish to out of one of them. Leigh capitulated in the 2015 play offs. It wasn't down to their cup run.

In your view, what was it down to?

Not being able or prepared to adapt the style of rugby to different conditions? Thinking what won the league would also win promotion.

You were 3 scores in front at home in the first game and continued to try and score from every play. Threw the ball in touch in your own 20. Conceded from that error and fell to pieces. Did you win one game after that? Your confidence collapsed. Whether they all fell out, the coach lost it I don't know but it was shocking game management and tactics. From not losing home game all season and running us ragged for 50 minutes you then collapsed.
Compare those tactics to Sheens controlling the tempo of the game Saturday.

Re: challenge cup draw : Tue Apr 25, 2017 7:41 am
A cup run playing against super league opposition to test and build the squads skill set and confidence, or no further participation allowing the team to prepare for the middle 8's with plenty of rest time and less physical stress ?
Lots of different opinions on this and I can understand both arguments.

What I do know is that the atmosphere amongst the the fans on Saturday was party central. Everyone at LSV had a ball, had a smile on their faces and it was over due.
Home games this season have been "flat" on the terraces, I don't know if that's because of a over confidence, or a lack of opposition but it's been very stail.

If we can get a couple more away day's like Saturday, that feel good factor just might start to spill over into home games and can only be good for fans and the team in preparation for the end of season challenge.

If a champ side get Widnes and beat them, they're likely to sack their coach (don't know why Stone at Hudds is still there). I don't want that and long may Betts continue his mediocrity at Widnes and improve our promotion chances.

I don't want to face Hull this season either, It'll take too much out of us.

Facing Wakey or Salford might be interesting.....

Any SL side. Not bothered who. We need testing as much as possible. The enemy is complacency. Every rubbish performance has come of the back of soft wins & there'll be more of them to come.

As far as Leigh are concerned, they suffered from winning matches too easily & couldn't react to adversity. Jukes fixed this with loads of hard nosed, experienced players who could handle the pressure. Perfect for getting promoted, but they now seem to be left with too many players that don't look like they've got much SL left in them.
