But even if it did run properly, The Hull Daily Mail website would be one of the last I'd read. It was crap when I lived in Hull. Can't see it improving since I left.

It is minefield trying to read anything on the Hull daily mail website with adverts along with pop up adverts along with random things it just takes you too

A radical approach to the saturation of derby's is for the fanbase to say enough is enough by not attending Magic and the pre-season cashcow.

I certainly won't be going and haven't been to the 'friendly' for three years.

It makes sense for Hull and rovers to play a preseason game. Timings / travel etc are cut down. That said, I don' attend pre season friendlies as there is simply nothing in it for the fan other then to see a glorified training session. Simple answer is not to go.

Magic is a competitive league game, no problem with this, but i the RFL want to make it a genuine spectacle then they should have 1v2, 3v4 etc from the previous seasons standings to in theory get two equally matched teams.

What's the point in trying level it out when the very concept of Magic Weekend and the 23rd fixture casts do over how fair the league fixtures are.

Why should Hull have to play Saints 3 times, and Warrington play Widnes 3 times? With MW in it's current guise offering 2 league points, it's always going to be unfair whatever fixtures are played.

IIRC the original concept of MW was to have a 'spectacle' of derby fixtures - the only survivor is the Hull derby!

Much was written in the media about the fall in attendance last year, with the Hull Derby pinpointed as the reason. I guess it was to be expected it would be re-introduced.

I agree it is unfair no matter how the fixtures are structured but I would like to see a 'tiered' approach - last seasons top 8 play each other and the bottom 3 + promoted team play each other - with the fixtures drawn out of a hat. I would also like the games to have an incentive of if you score 4 or more tries you earn a point ie the possibility of each games outcome 3pts to the winner, 1pt to the loser.

No No and No again. We do not want bonus points. It was tried in the Championship and no one liked it. Its like giving everyone a medal at sports day because they tried their hardest. Winners get the points and losers don't. Simple.

Not a lot of interest from me for another derby, I can see the logic of playing a friendly in regards of convenience. I have suggested before that if they insist on it we could use it to promote the local game by playing a double header with the Council cup final & a fund raiser for the local League sides. That gives them a bigger stage to play on & a one off experience for the grass roots players while putting something back into the community. Unfortunately I see the clubs trying to squeeze the last penny out for their own pockets. As for the MW not right or fair for all the reasons stated before. The only way is for one side to give up a home game every other year? turkeys voting for Christmas springs to mind.

I wouldn't want incentive points introduced carte blanch but certainly at the MW to spice things up.
