If so, i’d think it is pretty marginal compared to the market just being very flat.

Also, although we signed people like Vella, Gene and Chester ahead of 2007, we added Bauer, Dyer and Gannon too. And they did a job - but that job was to come 11th. We’ve got a decent shot at avoiding the spoon this year, but nowadays it doesn’t count for much.

Moving the club shop to the stadium? What! Bonkers. Too far for me to go to make the occasional purchase..We don,t all live near the ground or in east Hull...A very bad decision...don,t do it Rovers. Or at least if its money related look for another potentially city centre site.

I agree absolutely. The commercial side of the club at least seems to be going backwards judging by this decision.
When the retail shop was on Holderness road it wasn't to bad as most fans could still access it quite easily.
Then they moved it to the city centre which was easily accessible as most people went into town at some time or other. However, If they move it to the stadium, lots of supporters will simply not be able to get there so easily as it's not central or on route for most of them.
I fear this could result in a drop off in sales which in turn will mean a reduction in revenue for the club.
Just what are they thinking of.?

Tbf, you can increase profit on lower revenue if you cut costs too. Without seeing the numbers, it’s hard to say. I think we lose some less tangible benefits too, but if we’re saving a five-figure sum, as i’ve seen rumoured, I can understand it.

Maybe a lot of business is done online now and there isn't enough trade to justify a massive rent on a city centre location every time I've been in there there seems to be about six or more staff on plus is it really that hard to get to a shop at the ground we all seem to get there easily enough on match day

Well I’m glad other people deem this worthy of conversation unlike a poster on another thread.
Regardless of what the rent is at the shop, even if it is in 5 figures, the loss of revenue will be well over this said amount......small time thinking by the club.
Apart from game day, that would be it from me regarding visiting the club shop, as well as other rovers fans I’ve spoken to.
I’m totally pi$$ed off by the club over this descision.

How do you know how much revenue is taken through the shop if it was making as much as you think then why would the club shut it it doesn't make sense

All I know is club merchandise sales was at record levels last year, even greater than our year at Wembley. This gamble by moving the shop is in my opinion a massive step backwards.

The overheads of town centre rent and staff would be considerable but I agree it is a necessary expense.but in old days it was the holderness road shop (now Polski)or buy at the ground.Savings made but possibly not looking at bigger picture.?

I totally agree, I don’t go into town that much, but parking in Albion St Carpark it’s easy just to pop in for a browse, as you head into town which usually means a purchase. You would hope they have really thought this through, and as has been said rent and rates won’t be cheap, but it’s the fact we have a presence in the town centre where people can go
