I think you would have stayed up anyway, but it will be interesting to see if there is any long term improvement at Rovers under Smith.
Overall, I’d say Sheens proved to be a successful appointment. Steadied the ship, won the division we were in and navigated the qualifying 8s that year and the next.
This year things have come adrift a bit and he just seemed wearied by it all by the end.
It will be interesting to see what happens, but it feels like the club are trying to make things happen quickly rather than just dreaming about jam in five years or whatever.
A bit of immediate ambition and raised expectation could do us a world of good. Hope ‘kills’ fans but them (and the wider RL community) expecting us to lose in advance each week would eventually kill the club. You can’t build much on foundations of losing this much; that level of patience doesn’t exist in the real world.
