Fair point, will need it against Leigh, who will really be up for it.

Question for Rovers fans who are able to have discussion about Rugby, should Sheens have used one of your quota spots to sign a halfback rather than a winger or impact prop?

With hindsight possibly yes. I am concerned about our half back situation at the moment but up until the Andull injury I didn't share the concern of others. Abdull was one of our better and most consistent players for me. With him out and Ellis looking like he is struggling we don't seem to know who our two best halfbacks are. However, it would be hard for any team in our position to turn down signing Carney and Masoe. Also who's to say if we did an overseas halfback he wouldn't be missing too a la Abdull.

With Moss showing some form at FB I'd like to see Quinlan at 6 for the Leigh game. Sheens seem intent at playing him at FB so if that's the case I would like to see Blair there to get more involved in the game and he showed he can do a good job on plenty of occasions last year.

In my opinion yes, I've been saying for weeks, as have many other supporters that we required a quality halfback. I can't understand why the club didn't go for one, or baring that, sign Atkins much earlier on so that he could get up to speed with the team and improve his game. Unless we can get Abdul back then I really do fear for us in the forthcoming matches, because we don't appear to have anyone barring Lunt, who can provide us with that bit of flair to be able to unlock tight defences. Personally I would have given young Liam Harris more game time with the first team. :FRUSRATED:

Sheens has had 23 games to get them pivotal positions spot on, and he has failed monumentally. I've been saying as soon as Abdul became injured, Harris should of been drafted immediately, and now our pants are round our ankles.
I hope I'm wrong and I will come on here and say so, but his lack of insight into these positions will see us staying in the championship next year.
So the answer to your question Dave is whether or not we should of used a quota spot, the tools were here already to get us prepared.

Both and it might be our big mistake but we will find out soon

I think one of your issues is since Abdul got injured, Sheens doesn't know who is best half backs are.

Abdul was sat near me at the Hull game on Friday and he didn't have his boot on, I heard him talking to Paul Hatton and said he wa hoping for the Widnes game

As others have already said I don't think we were in a position to not sign Carney, he's ridiculous at this level, and if you check most people's post's on here we've all been crying out (correctly) for a big horrible nasty prop for about two years.

We already have a decent half back, one certainly good enough for SL (and as the old argument goes, who's available?) unfortunately, he belongs to you lot.

You are a massive raasclart.

Carney is a top 4 SL winger, still suprised you signed him,

Rovers have been rumoured to be after Mortimer for a while, think he would have been an option, maybe could have looked to release Quinlin or Clarke.

Also think you will sign Abdul, I don't see him coming back to Hull to play 4th halfback.
