If they keep saying the same things people get bored and ask why nothing changes. They say something different and they can’t make up their minds. If they’re dispassionate they’re accused of not caring but if they show emotion, they’re having a meltdown or have lost it. Holding the players accountable is hanging them out to dry, protecting them makes him a soft touch.
Fans want to vent their frustrations and words can’t change it, only wins.
Put Sandercock’s downbeat interviews alongside a winning run and we’d have all liked that he was steady, even tempered, focused and didn’t take anything for granted, i’m sure.
