Most of the time, if it's got battery life, any small software glitches can be fixed by pressing and holding both the home button and the power button until an apple is displayed on the screen, This is like a reboot.
When your phone is up and running, if you double tap the home button, a quick menu will pop up from the bottom and ALL open apps will be displayed, these are all using memory and aren't really needed to be open. They make the device run slow having them all open and can cause crashes. Whilst you have these displayed, if you press and hold one of them they will start to 'wiggle' and you can then close them down. I usually close all of them quite often. Save's battery life noticeably and reduces crashes.
