Dunno. It's worked pretty well the last couple of years. What do the current top 4 have when they lose key men? I'd say Hull have coped remarkably well but the last few weeks have caught up with us. It's not just about the players missing but those who take the field carrying injuries. kelly clearly isn't right and taylor is completely busted but still puts his hand up every week. These players wouldn't be playing if we had a near fit squad.

This season has seen a freakish number of lengthy injuries to key players so I'm just glad we're not scrapping for our lives in those middle 8's

I agree Jake you have coped well and to be still in contention is a great achievement but maybe you should tell some of the other Hull fans who seem to think this season is a disaster it shows how short some memories are it wasn’t that long ago Agar was taking you to the dizzy heights of 11th place

Too right. We need to dust ourselves down, have a decent 8's when we get some players back and look to next season

Hull have won 11 Super League games and lost 10.

16 points short from 1st, 3 points better than 8th and a real relegation scrap.

Would I swap places? Yes. Is it a wonderful achievement? No.

To their credit they put in a really good performance at St Helens in the cup and were unlucky not to win they certainly defended the trophy exceptionally well.

Under Radford Hull have bottle, week in week out not so good yes injuries have played their part just like Rovers, Leeds, Widnes, Castleford....I'll stop here and say every team apart from St Helens. They assume they'll be luckier next year..we have made that mistake ourselves.

IMO the gap between the Hull clubs is narrowing, still there but narrowing. Even many of our own fans don't seem to have noticed but the key events happen and the fruit bears later. Thanks to the current system we are 9 points better than the bottom club with 2 fixtures remaining....but they can still stay up and we can still go down. Rovers are battling a system where the only thing that matters is drama.

I think that this drama at all costs system skews people's outlook, as a promoted club we are going to finish above at least 2 established SL clubs and IMO that should be enough. Get through this and the future looks good. Hull have reverted to type blaming injuries and referees.

No other club has suffered anywhere near as many lengthy injuries to key players as Hull have this year

Re: Widnes : Tue Jul 17, 2018 4:14 am
Us Castleford Leeds Widnes spring to mind pretty much all season? Yours seem to have been last 2/3rds of season? Snide being long term has been the main problem id reckon? Then the in form Griffin n Connor get Crocked.Far from ideal and throw in other injuries to Shaul Kelly Houghton and it has been tough on a squad without Watts Ellis Fonua who were real quality. Tough times indeed but I still reckon yourselves and the 4 clubs iv mentioned have had it as bad as each other? Dont believe everything Smailes writes.
