Re: Million pound game : Sun Sep 25, 2016 5:46 pm
We've been crap at home in front of the cameras. The only thing to take heart in is the fight baxk in the 2nd half against Hudds.

If the RFL take action against Peacock and Cockayne after we've already lost Greebwood, the dubious drop goal and woeful refereeing by Hicks in the 1st half especially, then I fear for us.

We have sleep walked into the mid 8s, coasted in some of the mid 8s game and the game when we could have ended it before the MPG we did nothing for 40 mins.

With all those facts in mind, I'm bricking it.

We've been crap at home full stop. 4 home wins all season. One of them was against Batley.

Yesterday was the 7th / 8th home game settled by 2 points or less. We've only managed to win 1 of them.

You rely on your halves to guide you home in tight games. Campese & Kelly have managed 1 home game together in 2017. Both went off injured.

Marsh can't run a game. Campese can't run. Kelly can't be trusted.

...I am also bricking it.

I can certainly understand I would be also if reversed, the biggest worry I can see for you is losing greenwood to injury if he is unavailable this week and peacock touching ref which a number of pics have been floating around on SM. he would be big loss as e is a leader and talker on the field something you need desperately, I still you will win even without these 2 players but it would make it closer I think

You lads seem very confident. Please, please under estimate us.

Salford back on form today (top eight material save for Marwan`s penalties) so please write us off. At last they looked up for it.

Michael Dobson is very much looking forward to the match. Josh Griffin Newly signed for Hull FC also.

Relax boys - thats what we want you to do. Salford absolutely nothing to lose now.

I hope the management print this off in giant print and stick it on the dressing room wall, especially the bits about Dobson and Josh Griffin relishing returning to the Lightstream stadium.
It may at least go some way to blowing away any bits of complacency that they may harbour.
Above all i hope Webster and the players start to realize before Saturday that nothing short of a FULL 80 minute display will do, not twenty, not 40 or 60, but the full 80 minutes.
Above all, stop giving away cheap possession in your own 20 or 30 metre zone with ridiculous passes that are never on.

I'm failing to see anyone who is really confident its a one off match which I'm dreading

Any Rovers fan with their faculties intact are bricking it and fearing the worst, you won't find many complacent fans round here apart from a few doing a bit of fishing

And the Geek shall inherit the Earth!

Re: Million pound game : Sun Sep 25, 2016 9:00 pm
Most of Hudds tries came from our mistakes. Just think if that first lucky intercept try hadn't happened by us pushing too hard and not respecting the ball. Same for the Charlie knock on.

I can't see it changing next week. Both teans will be nervous, and we may be worse after Hudds. Either that or it might inspire us.

I think Kelly is still a MASSIVE question, no matter what we think. This is SL survival at last chanxe saloon. He's probably not match fit at the mo, but does he give us that one small spell of magic that gets us all home? If nothing else, with Kelly AND Campo on the field we look more dangerous and make teams think twice, even though it may justvbe an illusion. Marsh and not even Blair in the halves gives other teams something extra to worry about. If we win, fine, but uf we lise and he doesb't play, we will ALL be questioning the decision.

Kitchen sink time I'm afraid, not matter what has gone on behind closed doors.

I will support the team ad get a season pass next yar regardless. I was a season holder during the dark days, and it was tragic. I don't relish the future if we head back there again.

Anyone deluding themselves that we'll definately win needs to open their eyes to reality. We need to channel the same nerves and spirit we had at Widnes 10 years ago. We are now a championship side vying for promotion, it is the ONLY way to see this game.

But on current form, as I stated before.....bricking it.
